Sarah was born and raised in Cincinnati, OH. and attended Wright State University as an undergraduate. She majored in Psychology with a special focus in Behavioral Neuroscience. She proceeded to work in research at Wright State, where she spent most of her time organizing and creating studies surrounding the acute stress response and how it impacts cognition and immune system longevity. Sarah went on to receive a Master’s Degree in Nursing from Mount Saint Joseph University, and started working for an inpatient acute psychiatric unit at a Veteran Affairs Medical Center. For several years she gained experience as a psychiatric nurse treating an array of mental health conditions. She developed a vested interest in the treatment of veterans with addiction, depression, and suicidality related to past combat trauma. In an effort to provide more services, she continued her education at Northern Kentucky University, where she completed her Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program.
Sarah is married with one fur kid. On her off time she enjoys reading research articles, cooking, and listening to podcasts while she is on the road traveling. She loves all animals and prefers staying active and being outdoors. She enjoys volunteering and supporting veteran-lead PTSD groups, while spending time with friends and family.
