Heather has been a nurse for 17 years, beginning her career in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. She also has worked in Medical Imaging at a pediatric hospital, sedating kids for their MRIs and other imaging procedures. During this time, she had an ongoing interest in mental health, as mental health care is definitely not limited to inpatient units or psychiatric practices. She made the transition to inpatient behavioral health care in 2018, and upon completion of her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing started her program to complete her Master’s Degree in Nursing as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
When she is not working, Heather and her husband love to go to museums and are avid cruisers. Their favorite cruise destination by far is Alaska. They also enjoy travel destinations that are closer to home, such as Amish Country in northern Ohio.
