Alicia has been involved with healthcare for over 28 years, 23 years as a Registered Nurse. As a nurse she has a varied background with cardiology, pediatrics, teen pregnancy, postpartum, newborn, lactation support, home care, education, research, surgical, military triage, and as an advanced practice nurse in family medicine, urgent care and psychiatry. She earned her Masters from Chamberlain University as a Family Nurse Practitioner working in family practice and urgent care and then obtained her Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from Wright State University working in a community health setting treating a varied array of mental health disorders. She is passionate about women’s health, weight concerns/body positivity, PTSD, domestic violence, anxiety/panic disorders, depression, generational trauma, and loss/grief but comfortable addressing all mental health disorders. One of her goals is reducing the stigma regarding mental health. She appreciates psychology aspects such as the “Let Them” theory, Theory of Resilience, and studies on shame and vulnerability from Brene Brown. She provides wholistic, nonjudgmental, supportive care seeing each person as a unique individual. All races, genders and ages welcome. She feels it is important for her patients to feel valued and supported, helping them to live life with a purpose through their mental health journey. She is also an ordained minister and can help address spirituality through personal reflections and philosophical questioning leading to a greater understanding of oneself. She incorporates humor and positivity throughout her practice. As hobbies, she enjoys being a mother to her 2 wonderful children, her 2 dogs Zeus and Zhara, travel, theater, art, music, nature, cooking and of course getting lost in a book.
